Keynote Speech

The Keynote Speech at LSE Generate x JIF 2025 will be delivered by the Vice Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno. This session will set the tone for the event by highlighting Jakarta’s role as a hub for Southeast Asia and its commitment to advancing impact investment across Indonesia and the ASEAN region.
This session is titled "Panel Discussion 'East Meets West: ESG trends and adoption through an Asian leadership lens'". This session brings together experts and practitioners to explore how global ESG frameworks intersect with Asian perspectives, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and leadership approaches in advancing sustainable investment. Participants will gain insights into how Asia’s unique context shapes the adoption and evolution of ESG practices.
This session is named "Presentation + Fireside chat 'The rise and fall of smart cities: Capitalising corporate innovation in ESG'. This session will examine the lessons learned from global smart city initiatives, addressing both successes and setbacks, while exploring how corporate innovation can drive meaningful ESG impact. Through an engaging discussion, participants will gain practical perspectives on leveraging technology and sustainability to shape future urban development.
Session 3 presents the "Greenpreneur Elevator Showcase", an opportunity for curated startups to pitch business to get wider networks of incubator, venture and ecosystem to grow your company.
Session 4 offers a workshop named "Building Successful, Responsible AI Startups for the Global South". This hands-on session focuses on the opportunities and challenges of developing AI-driven ventures in emerging markets, emphasizing ethical practices, scalability, and long-term impact. Participants will gain practical guidance on how to create responsible AI solutions that address local needs while remaining globally competitive.
