Project Overview

Since 2015, the Jakarta Capital City Government has implemented the Smart City concept which is run by the Jakarta Smart City (JSC) Technical Service Unit (“UPT”) through the Regional Public Service Agency (“BLUD”) which is under the Jakarta Capital City Government Department for Communication, Informatics and Statistic.

JSC currently plays a major role as a service provider, which includes handling public communications, providing public and internal information services for Jakarta Capital City Government (including in developing related Information Technology applications), as well as the Jakarta Capital City Government statistical information.

In terms of Information Technology, the Department for Communication, Informatics and Statistic currently plays the role of managing the IT network in the Jakarta Capital City Government, where the data center is managed by each Regional Apparatus Work Unit.

Seeing the current development of the digital world, the Jakarta Capital City Government wishes to strengthen the maturity level of Smart City from the "City 2.0" level, namely from the Government with the role as service providers and the community as consumers, to a higher level, namely the level of "City 4.0", where the Government acts as a collaborator and the community as a co-creator (partners in doing creations).
