Introductory Meeting with Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (IETO) to Taipei
On August 8, 2024, Jakarta Investment Centre (JIC) held an introductory meeting with representatives from the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (IETO) to Taipei to discuss potential investment collaborations between Jakarta and Taiwan. The meeting aims to bring together teams from both organizations to explore strategic collaborations.
IETO Taipei is an economic non-governmental institution under the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia that contributes significantly to the promotion of economic relations between Indonesia and Taiwan. The meeting highlighted several investment opportunities in Jakarta such as the metal industry, textile, machinery and waste management. Taiwan has been a major supplier to these industries and JIC is eager to attract more Taiwanese investment especially from the likes of TSMC and Xianyu.
JIC also sought IETO Taipei’s support in promoting Jakarta’s 2024 investment projects to Taiwanese business networks and discussed potential collaborations such as exclusive networking dinner and business mission in conjunction with the Jakarta Investment Festival (JIF) 2024. IETO Taipei welcomed these initiatives, recognizing Taiwan's massive investment potential in Jakarta.
