Across the first nine months of 2026, the investment composition remained relatively balanced. FDI reached IDR 777.8 trillion, representing 50.5% of the national total, while DDI contributed IDR 761.4 trillion, or 49.5%. Over the same period, investment activities generated employment for 2,194,496 Indonesian workers. These cumulative figures provide an overview of national investment realization and employment creation during the first nine months of 2026.
The sectoral distribution further demonstrates the range of economic activities receiving investment. During January–September 2026, the basic metals and metal goods industry, excluding machinery and equipment, led with IDR 269.2 trillion, or 17.5% of total investment. Other services followed with IDR 195.7 trillion (12.7%), while transportation, warehousing and telecommunications attracted IDR 154.4 trillion (10.0%). Indonesia’s results through September show continued investment growth, participation from both domestic and foreign investors, and significant employment creation. With three-quarters of the annual investment target achieved, the focus remains on further realization and the quality of its economic benefits. The Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Chairman of BKPM emphasised the need for continued engagement with stakeholders to improve the investment and industrial climate.
