As part of the Jakarta Investment Festival (JIF) 2024, a thematic discussion titled "Transforming Jakarta into a MICE Tourism Hub" was held on Friday, September 6th, 2024. The session aimed to explore strategies and opportunities for establishing Jakarta as a prominent destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism.

The discussion featured insights from influential figures across various sectors. Mrs. Dewitri Anggraini from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy highlighted the government's proactive role in supporting MICE tourism through infrastructure development, fiscal incentives, and promotional efforts. On the other hand, Mrs. Nunung Rusmiati, the Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), emphasized Jakarta's strategic location, world-class infrastructure, and the quality of event management in the city.
Mr. Hosea Andreas Runkat, the deputy of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), highlighted some of Jakarta's current advantages, such as its advantageous location and top-notch facilities like the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) and the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). Mr. Sutrisno Iwantono, Chairman BPD PHRI Jakarta, emphasized the industry's critical role in MICE tourism by providing essential services and facilities. Additionally, Mr. Aji Munarwiyanto, Director of ITDC Nusantara Properti stressed the significance of sustainable tourism practices and their integration into MICE events.
Mr. Hisyaamuddin, the moderator, concluded by summarizing that because of its infrastructure and accessibility from many international locations, Jakarta has enormous potential to become a premier MICE hub in the Asia Pacific.
