To support the increasing demand for clean water in Jakarta, a new water treatment plant (IPA) at Kanal Banjir Barat (KBB) 2 will be built on a 9,000 m² site located approximately 3 km from the coastline, downstream from the existing IPA Hutan Kota 1.
The raw water source will be the West Flood Canal (Kanal Banjir Barat). Given the high salinity levels in this area, the plant will utilize Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, capable of treating water with Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels exceeding 10,000 ppm. This strategic development aims to enhance Jakarta’s water resilience, particularly in coastal areas, by leveraging high-capacity RO technology for challenging water conditions.
