The project is part of the Jakarta Sewerage System program, which aims to develop and manage domestic wastewater treatment across 15 zones, including those currently in operation.

The primary objective of this project is to improve environmental conditions in Jakarta Zone 8 by collecting and treating 80% of the domestic wastewater generated in the service area and ensuring that the treated water complies with applicable environmental standards and regulations. The remaining 20% is expected to be managed through onsite septic tanks, supported by regular desludging and sludge treatment. Cumulatively, these efforts aim to achieve 100% sanitation coverage in Zone 8.
