JAKARTA (17/10) - Jakarta warmly welcomes Heru Budi Hartono as the interim Jakarta Governor succeeding Anies Baswedan whose term expires on October 16th 2022. Jakarta deeply appreciated the leadership of the former Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan and the Vice Governor of Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria in fostering Jakarta’s investment growth in the past five years. We are also looking forward to continuing in accelerating this growth under the leadership of the interim Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono onwards.

With extensive experience, Heru has been familiar with Jakarta’s government as he started his career as a Special Staff of the North Jakarta Mayor (1993). He then served as the Head of Bureau for Gubernatorial Affairs and the North Jakarta Mayor consecutively in 2013 and 2014. In 2015, he served as the Head of Board for Local Finance and Asset Management before he was then appointed as the Presidential Chief of Staff in 2017.
