Investment Realization in Jakarta: A Comprehensive Report for 2022




Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, has seen a significant surge in investment activities during the last quarter of 2022, October to December, the total investment in Jakarta reached Rp 34.05 trillion, with foreign investment contributing US$ 0.67 billion (Rp 9.66 trillion) and domestic investment contributing Rp 24.39 trillion. This marks a 10.6% year-on-year improvement, with the total investment in Jakarta in the previous year reaching Rp 30.79 trillion.

  

When looking at the entire year of 2022, the total investment realization in Jakarta was Rp 142.9 trillion, with foreign investment contributing Rp 53.7 trillion and domestic investment contributing Rp 89.2 trillion. In terms of domestic investment, the South Jakarta Administrative City led with Rp 31.27 trillion, followed by the Central Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 18.88 trillion, North Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 16.5 trillion, East Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 15.2 trillion, West Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 7.3 trillion, and the Thousand Islands Administrative City with Rp 0.002 trillion.

In terms of foreign investment, the South Jakarta Administrative City was the leading recipient with Rp 31.9 trillion, followed by the East Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 9.9 trillion, Central Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 8.4 trillion, North Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 2.0 trillion, and West Jakarta Administrative City with Rp 1.3 trillion.

When it comes to the top sectors of domestic investment in Jakarta in 2022, the construction sector topped the list with Rp 18.8 trillion (21.1%), followed by transportation, warehouse, and telecommunication with Rp 18.2 trillion (20.3%), other services with Rp 12.5 trillion (14.0%), housing, industrial, and office areas with Rp 12.0 trillion (13.5%), and mining with Rp 10.9 trillion (12.3%).

The top sectors of foreign investment in Jakarta in 2022 were transportation, warehouse, and telecommunication with Rp 20.0 trillion (37.2%), followed by other services with Rp 12.2 trillion (22.6%), housing, industrial, and office areas with Rp 8.5 trillion (15.9%), wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles with Rp 5.2 trillion (9.7%), and mining with Rp 3.4 trillion (6.3%).
