On June 5, 2024, Jakarta Investment Centre (JIC) held a courtesy meeting with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Jakarta, underscoring investment potential to enhance economic ties between Jakartaand the UAE. His Excellency Ambassador Abdulla Salem Al-Dhaheri warmly welcomed JIC delegations at his respective embassy.
Indonesia and UAE have been forming closer ties in the last decade, evidenced by among others the development of Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital in Solo and the President Joko Widodo Mosque in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, JIC offered potential investment opportunities to be matchmake with the UAE investors such as the East Ancol development which includes an ambitious plan to develop the International Islamic Museum and Floating Mosque.
The session also served as an invitation to the UAE Embassy to participate in the upcoming Jakarta Investment Festival (JIF) 2024, an event that showcases Jakarta’s investment potentials to the global investors. The embassy expressed a keen interest in the festival, indicating a robust UAE presence through its leading business entities
The continuous collaboration between Jakarta and the UAE holds promising prospects for future projects and mutual benefits, symbolizing a strategic alliance that could shape the economic landscapes of both regions.
