Governor Anies hopes JIF 2022 will revive Jakarta’s economic and investment climate

JAKARTA (1/9) - The Governor of Jakarta Capital City Government Anies Baswedan launched and became one of the speakers in the Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) 2022 at Fairmont Hotel Jakarta, Thursday (1/9).

Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) 2022 brings the theme of “Investing in Resilience” which is integrated with the U20 Mayors Summit. This theme aligns with Jakarta Regional Development Plan 2023-2026.

“Today, we hold the Jakarta Investment Forum where the Jakarta Capital City Government is inviting various stakeholders to explore investment potentials in the city,” said the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

“Investment in Jakarta is not limited to the projects that are being developed by the Jakarta Capital City Government, but also investment for business activities that will create more jobs, drive a better economy and increase the prosperity of Jakarta’s citizens,” he added.

In this opportunity, Governor Anies also explains the direction of Jakarta’s development which is expected to inform investors in considering and making strategic decisions in investing their resources.

“So in this opportunity, we showcase Jakarta’s development direction, what we have done and how it is going in the future, along with the ease of doing business in Jakarta. For instance, the licensing reform and spatial plan that we hope will involve more business counterparts in Jakarta’s economic development,” he explained.

Governor Anies also hopes that JIF 2022 can be a platform to build more intense interactions between the government, private sectors, and investors from the governmental institution, multinational organization, as well as private investors.

“Interactions in an investment forum are not only in the panel session, but also the interactions that happen after the presentation, followed by a follow-up meeting between investors and project owners that bring the investment opportunity. We are encouraging investment that will contribute directly to business activities,” he stated.

Besides seminars, JIF 2022 provides a leader forum as a platform for several Jakarta Provincial Government agencies such as Jakarta’s Department of Housing; Department of  Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture; Department for Spatial and Land Planning; and Regional Owned Enterprises to meet in a one-on-one meeting with the interested investors.

The Head of Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office Onny Widjanarko explains that JIF 2022 is held in the right momentum with Jakarta’s and the national current condition. Moreover, there are 15 urban development investment projects that are being offered to the investors.
