On 5th December 2023, Jakarta Investment Centre (JIC) held a strategic event entitled “Action Plan Formulation for the Synergy of Regional-Owned Corporations (BUMD) and Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) with the Jakarta Investment Center in Increasing the Investment of DKI Jakarta”. The event took place at Mardin Baklava Café, Kemang, Jakarta, and was attended by the representatives of Regional-Owned Corporations (BUMD) and Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) of Jakarta. The event itself was part of the research function of JIC and intended to solicit the ongoing and upcoming projects from all Jakarta-owned enterprises while talking through the potential projects that may be offered to investors.
Mrs Tona Hutauruk, Head of JIC, opened the meeting by ingeminating the role and function of JIC, especially in facilitating Jakarta-owned enterprises to seek for potential investment. She went on to say that JIC would hold the Jakarta Investment Festival in the middle 2024, which would be the upgrade of Jakarta Investment Forum 2023. She said that, through Jakarta Investment Forum 2023, JIC has mapped various potential projects that could be forwarded to investment offer. She expected that more potential projects from Jakarta would be exhibited in the upcoming Jakarta Investment Festival 2024. By that, she hoped that Jakarta would attract more investors and witness more significant development.
Besides, Mrs Tona Hutauruk affirmed that JIC would continue its Highest and Best Use (HBU) Study Project in 2024 to continually explore the economic potential of Jakarta and analyze the thematic areas within the region. JIC would also follow up the Jakarta-owned enterprises in regards to their ready-to-offer projects which would then be curated by JIC for Jakarta Investment Festival 2024. The Jakarta Investment Festival itself would run for two days for its main events, with one day as an exhibition and the other day for on-site visits.
Following the presentation of Ms Tona Hutauruk was the representative of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol who talked over the latest development of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol. He mentioned that PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol would like to join the Jakarta Investment Festival upon its participation in Jakarta Investment Forum 2023. It was stated that PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol has been doing a number of projects, some which had attracted investors, and looked forward to meeting potential investors.
The New Marina Project was one of the examples of the project that was being carried out by PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol. It was stated that the project consisted of the East Marina Project which would be offered to middle east investors and the West Marina Project which had attracted investors from Singapore. For the two projects, Ancol had promoted them at the 2023 Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong held by the Hong Kong Development Trade Council (HKDTC). Besides, Ancol had explored investment together with PT MRT Jakarta for the MRT development project in the Ancol area. In 2024, Ancol planned to explore investments with Singapore, Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
Upon the completion of the presentation of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, PT MRT, represented by its Head of TOR Business Generation Department, shared its latest development including its investment planning and upcoming collaboration. Some projects that were being developed by PT MRT Jakarta included the Fatmawati project, Bundaran HI, and Blok M. Moreover, a number of investors had shown interest in TOD projects and route development projects. For the MRT Phase 4 project, PT MRT Jakarta has met with potential investors from South Korea and is currently at the proposal submission stage.
PT MRT itself was one of the Jakarta-owned enterprises participating in the JIF 2023 event and had got potential investors for one of its projects through the event. Even several PT MRT Jakarta TOD Projects had also been directly visited by the potential investors through the facilitation of JIC after its participation in JIF 2023. In 2024, PT MRT would like to participate in the Jakarta Investment Festival 2024.
Following that, all other Jakarta-owned enterprises discussed their latest projects with JIC. They were PT Transjakarta, PAM Jaya, PAL Jaya, Jakarta Asset Management Centre (JAMC), Sarana Jaya, Jakpro, Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Kawasan Berikan Nusantara (KBN), Pasar Jaya, Bank DKI, Dharma Jaya, Jakarta Tourisindo, and the Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) Bantar Gebang. Concluding the event, Mrs Tona Hutauruk reaffirmed the commitment of JIC in facilitating all investment-related matters for all Jakarta-owned enterprises.
