DKI Governor Anies Baswedan conveys the happy news, hopefully the citizens of Jakarta can smile widely. 

According to Anies, Jakarta is in the top 50 cities in the world in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. One indicator is the achievement of vaccination.

“Jakarta is currently in the top 50 best cities in handling COVID-19,” said Anies opening the Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) activity, in Jakarta, Thursday (11/11).

Anies explained, based on data from the DKI Provincial Health Office, the achievement of the first dose of vaccination for residents in Jakarta until November 10, 2021, reached almost 10.98 million people.

“Meanwhile, the achievement of the second dose of vaccination reached 8.6 million people,” he said.

Of that number, 67 percent of them are residents with a DKI Jakarta ID card and the others are residents without a DKI Jakarta ID card.

Previously, an institution that was part of a non-profit and commercial international consortium, Deep Knowledge Analytics (DKA), placed Jakarta in 47th place out of the top 50 cities in the world in handling the pandemic.

DKA explained that the results of the study were based on data collected until September 2021 in an analysis titled COVID-19 City Safety Ranking in the second quarter of 2021.
